Like the last few years events, we received a overwhelming response to the held between in Bangalore. The India/ASEAN HTC08 is part of Altair’s global conference series, with similar events in North America and Europe. Partnering withDELL, HP, AMD, Sun Microsystems, nCode, Metacomp, nVIDIA, Gemstone, Think3 and NAFEMS, the theme for this year’s conference was focused on HyperWorks-A Platform for Innovation. The conference showcased customer success through Altair’s advanced applications viz. Altair HyperWorks suite of solutions – OptiStruct, RADIOSS, MotionSolve, HyperMesh and allied technologies - PBS GridWorks and HiQube.
The conference witnessed a packed house, like last year - over 1000 CAE engineering professionals from all over India and South Asia attended the conference, who got to experience expert industry keynote speaker sessions, Technical paper presentations, Poster sessions which were introduced for the first time, besides exciting Contests and Quiz sessions. The conference received over 65 abstracts compared to 56 last year.
The keynote sessions (HTC08) were addressed by the following speakers :
• Nitin Ranade– Vice President (Virtual Validation and Current Products),M&M (Auto Sector)
• Regu Ayyaswamy (Regu), Vice President & Global Head of Engg & Industrial Services, TCS
• Dr. Ravi Guttal, Head, Engineering Services, John Deere
• Ashok Kumar, COO - Manufacturing Services, Infotech Enterprises
• Y. Prakash, Manager – Safety, Volvo
Altair Speakers covered a wide range of subjects of interest to CAE engineers and decision makers
- Case Studies on use of HyperWorks across different verticals like RAIL, Consumer goods, Bio-Medical besides Aerospace and Automotive.
- Engineering Intelligence –n-dimensional view of engineering data which is displayed as a dashboard of engineering performance metrics that supports insightful decision-making across the enterprise.
- Recently launched HyperWorks Community Partner program
- Integrated CAE Driven Vehicle Development within a HyperWorks Framework
- RADIOSS – Non-linear Solver applications across different Verticals
- HyperWorks Futures – A look at the future applications & product roadmap for Altair HyperWorks
Additionally Partner Presentations included DELL, HP/AMD, nCode, Metacomp Technolgies and NVIDIA.
Two parallel conferences were also organized at the same venue
- GRID08 (focused at the HPC community) and
- Analytics08 (Business Intelligence)
Besides this ~35 customers presented papers covering applications of HyperWorks within their CAE – Virtual Validation Process. The papers covered a range of application domains and were assigned 5 different tracks viz. - FEM/ FE Linear Solver, Non-Linear , Multi-Body Dynamics, Optimisation, Process Automation & CAE Data Mgmt .
30 papers were also presented in the Poster presentation category.
