Glass Fiber Reinforced Structural Components for a Group
1 Child Seat

This presentation contains the development and optimization
of several structural metal and plastic components for a group
1 isofix childseat, using a combination of RADIOSS (explicit)
for crash simulations, OptiStruct for component optimization
and Molflow MPI for parallel processing optimization. The
novelty of the child seat is that a complete metal structure
has been replaced by plastic structural components to lower
weight and cost and to gain more design freedom in the seat
but also performing according to the highest child safety
standards (ECE & USNCAP) and better.
