Development of Pregnant woman model to understand injury
mechanisms in case of frontal impact
Jérémie Peres, Inrets
Motor vehicle crashes are the main cause of fetal loss in
developed countries. It is important to design some tools
leading to a better understanding of the mechanisms leading
to fetal loss. The first steps of the development of a 9 month
pregnant woman finite element model are presented, namely
the adaptation of a human model to the anatomy of a woman
and the design of an ALE pregnant uterus model. Finally we
are presenting a preliminary study of the mechanisms leading
to abruptio placentae in frontal car crashes.
